I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) in 2012 when I was 32 years old. There is no cure for this illness. In 2015, I read somewhere that yoga can help my condition. When I started my first Hatha Yoga class, I was not even able to bend my knees properly. But my yoga teacher Anuradha did not give up on me and encouraged me to continue my practice. Few months into practice I became addicted to the good feelings my practice gave me; the “being strong” feeling. My interest in yoga then became a passion that I decided to take up Yoga Instructor course which I completed in July 2017. The reason I took up the course was not to teach other but for myself improvement.
I initially turned to yoga to help my affected neck nerve issue and was greatly inspired by the healing transformation that took place in my body as my yoga practice deepened. Falling in love with yoga as i noticed the changes in my mental and physical wellbeing, I felt a desire to delve more deeply into the study of yoga through teacher training. Now I registered under Sakthi School of Yoga (SSOY) and Yoga Alliance International as a 200 Hrs Certified Yoga Instructor.
My love towards yoga grew in no time and I did my yoga instructor course in 2019 at SSOY to venture further into the world of yoga. The changes I felt on myself and lifestyle though yoga practice was remarkable. To spread the goodness I have gained, I started teaching personal classes to people around me and meantime I signed up for pregnancy yoga instructor course. It must be the positivity and blessings from the universe that I was overwhelmed to find out that I am expecting a little yogi soon and it was the best feeling ever!
